[TIPS & TRICKS] Duplicate elements by group

In order to duplicate elements in your guidelines, some options are available and useful to know. This guide will help you learn how to duplicate elements by creating a group of them.

We also wanted to remind you of a simple operation regarding the selection of multiple products. In order to select multiple elements you can press [Ctrl] while clicking on the elements you want to select. Then, you'll be able to duplicate regarding the explanations below.

Multi-selection on shelf duplication

When a group of items on a shelf is duplicated, it is by default duplicated to the right by juxtaposing the duplicated group with the original one.

If a user uses the [Alt]+[Arrow] shortcut, the duplication is done by using the available distance between the selected group and the first item on the same zone (or both if the group contains items on testers and products zones) or the limit of the shelf encountered in the opposite direction.

When a group is composed of multiple grids, visuals, or both it is by default duplicated to the right by juxtaposing the duplicated group with the original one. The duplication can be done horizontally by clicking on the letter [D] on your keyboard or it could be duplicated in another direction by simply clicking on [Alt] and [Arrow].

Tray & Visual Duplication

If a group is only composed of multiple trays, visuals, or both it is by default duplicated to the right by juxtaposing the duplicated group with the original one., by clicking the letter [D] on your keyboard.

It is possible to force the direction of duplication to the wanted direction with [Alt]+[Arrow].

Shelf & Element or Visual Duplication

If a group contains at least one shelf, the duplicated group will be duplicated to the top by keeping the available distance between the whole group and the first toolbox element encountered above or the footer/bottom limit of the bay.

It is possible to force the direction of duplication to the wanted direction with [Alt]+[Arrow], otherwise, you can click on [D] for an intuitive duplication of the group.

If a shelf and a vertical separator are duplicated together it can create duplication out of the bay, but this is an edge case. Duplicating a shelf and a vertical separator simultaneously is not a real need :

Visual & Toolbox Element Duplication

If the group is not one of the above cases (not only composed of visual, tray, grids and does not contain any shelf) the duplicated group will be duplicated to the right by keeping the available distance between the whole group and the first toolbox element encountered on the left or the side/limit of the bay.

It is possible to force the direction of duplication to the wanted direction with [Alt]+[Arrow].
