2D Read-only mode

With the 2D Read-Only mode, you can restrict certain users' access rights, limiting them to viewing guidelines without making any changes. This ensures that your guidelines are preserved while still enabling team-wide visibility and collaboration.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

The 2D Read-Only mode is only active when a guideline or fixture cannot be edited due to its status (private, shared with HQ, or shared with all) or depending on the user's rights.

You will find below an illustrative example of scenarios in which a guideline or fixture will open in Read-Only mode:

  • The user has access and opens an archived fixture
  • The user has access and opens a fixture without the update right
  • The user has access and opens an archived guideline
  • The user has access and opens a “private” guideline but he is not the owner and does not have the “Update others” right
  • The user has access and opens a “shared with headquarters” guideline but he is not the owner and does not have the “Update others” right
  • The user opens a “shared with all” guideline but he is not the owner and he does not have the “Update others” right

By opening a guideline in the 2D Editor in Read-Only mode, you won't have access to the toolbox, catalog, and guideline tab. Only a few options on the top bar will be available such as "zoom", "lock", "move", "view" and "select an element".

In the actions MENU of the properties tab, you can:

                          • See sheet
                          • Select (it will select all the duplicates of the item)

Good to know

Below the properties tab, you also have the IN/OUT tab where you will only be able to consult the items that have to be added/removed from the bay. Check out this article for more information about IN and OUT lists.
